Can one link to another document from a document? I have a bunch of pretzels that need their instructions updated. In the future, if I update them again, I’d have to go back and do so individually for all of them. It would be great if I had a single document containing instructions that could be updated once, with a link to that document in the pretzel itself.
You can link from one document to another with <ref to="doenet:contentId">another doc</ref>. We need to add a button to give you that link, as it seems to be missing. For now, you can grab the contentId from the URL of the activity viewer or document editor. It is a code like pDcNAoJp8Em3GfsKcCyu2x near the end of the URL.
Another potential option to actually embed these instructions into the top of each document. I haven’t pulled the trigger on finishing that features as I ran into some uncertainty about how it should work. But the work to enable embedding DoenetML documents is almost completed.
